I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the wonderful support you have shown the Greenfish family.  With your purchases, you have planted 106 trees in deforested areas in the fishing town of Gaansbaai - in an effort to help bring balance back to the local ecosystem. It's also offsetting some of our carbon impact.  Turbo the turtle’s tracker was purchased with the proceeds of our fundraiser (I’m so grateful – this project is very close to my heart). Turbo is in great health and awaiting a lift to the currents out in the tuna...

Looking back at the year gone by, I can do nothing but smile. Seeing the 2000+ glowing reviews you have left us, it seems that you are smiling too!We have pushed the boundaries of new offerings and you have accepted the challenge with an open mind. You were willing to discover some of the freshest exotic produce the Cape has to offer. For many of you, it was the first time you were putting octopus, marlin or moonfish on your home table.Still unsure what to buy a loved one for Christmas? Get them a Greenfish gift card and share the...

This month we’ve had a couple of new and exciting products like the sailfish which was wonderfully received. Thank you to all of you who were adventurous enough to give our billfish (sailfish, black marlin, stripe marlin and swordfish) a try. We are now in the height of the first half of the tuna season with fresh catches of beautiful yellowfin tuna coming in daily.  With the strong southeasterly winds that we have been receiving over the last week, we expect the yellowtail season in Struisbaai to commence soon.  Yours truly,Ryan

The beginning of October traditionally brings a few weeks of strong south easterly winds, followed by some good catches of tuna. This year was no different and we have already had one good landing of fresh yellowfin tuna from our local fleet. With the sporadic north westerly winds and rain we are still experiencing this late in the year, I hope the tuna stay for the remainder of the tuna season. We have also seen good catches of cape snoek in false bay. They have been absent for many years inside the bay, and this was a welcome sight to many of...

Dear Greenfish community,With your help we are raising money to give back to our beautiful ocean. The money raised will go towards fitting a tracker to our hero for this project, a sub-adult green turtle, who is currently receiving care at the Two Oceans Aquarium’s education foundation. Turtles are an indicator species of the overall health of our oceans as they traverse a large area in the sea that is shared by many other marine species. If turtles are doing well, our oceans are doing well.  When they are in threat our oceans are in danger. This tracker will achieve...
