Catch of the Day #013

The proper Cape Town cold fronts have started. With this change in weather conditions, we see different fish and seasonal species entering and leaving our fishing grounds.   Our tuna catches are starting to slow down, as the warm water pockets are breaking up. Some of our winter kob and Cape salmon have moved inshore with the big swells. Grab yours fast as our stock of these crowd favourites usually sell out very fast.    As we transition into winter, we expect red fish such as red stumpnose, red roman and silver fish to move into the shallow areas where...

We are in the height of tuna season. Tuna caught in Cape town in April and May are traditionally considered to be in the best condition of the year. CATCH OF THE DAY #008

Ocean trout (unavailable) This local hero has been well received by many of our happy customers... Unfortunately, the small-scale farming operator we are working with have been having some trouble. The seals in the area have found the trout so irresistible that they devised a cunning way to get inside the pens and have had a great feast. Sadly, due to this we don’t expect to have local ocean raised trout ready for home deliveries for the next few months.   Norwegian Salmon (NEW) In order to bring you a similar experience to our ocean trout, we have partnered up...
