This year has definitely been different for all of us on land. It seems that the fish are on a new schedule too. For the first time in the 20 years that I have been catching tuna, we are getting pole caught tuna in July/August.
The water is a warm 19.5C and tropical blue. It's full of bird and marine life, flourishing with good healthy fat tuna - just what we want to catch. Nobody knows why these fish are here right now. It's certainly a reminder of how delicate the balance of our ocean's ecosystem is... The sustainable fishing methods we use are more important than ever.
Yours truly,
Ryan
