The Freshest Crayfish and Lobster in Cape Town
Discover the exquisite taste of low-impact harvested crayfish at Greenfish, Cape Town's leading seafood store. Known as the West Coast Rock Lobster, our crayfish is responsibly harvested by artisanal fishers around Cape Town, supporting local livelihoods and cultural traditions.

Where Our Crayfish Comes From
Greenfish crayfish are sourced from the inshore sector with small-scale fishermen using ring nets. The other is called the offshore sector which uses larger boats using traps and is more mechanised. This fishing activity is regulated by a strict quota system, ensuring the management of this treasured species. Environmental scientists assess and set the quotas annually, with a minimum size limit of 75mm carapace length set to promote healthy populations.
Our strict adherence to legal specifications guarantees we never sell undersized crayfish. Inspectors assess each catch, verifying sizes, permits and documentation. This process ensures that every crayfish you enjoy from Greenfish supports local fishermen and preserves the ocean's natural abundance.
