Fresh Yellowfin Tuna Belly (total +-800g-1000g per box )
Fresh Tuna Belly is the “foie gras” of tuna. It is like eating Wagyu beef compared to eating a plain old shop bought steak. Fresh Tuna belly or “toro" is generally considered the king of all sushi ingredients in Japan.
This box is ideal for any fish lover to add some variety into their week day cooking or on the braai. We have taken care of the mess, you look after the rest. Your fish will arrive vacuum packed, to make it easy to use at home

Instructions
Your yellow fin tuna belly will arrive fresh, simply store in your fridge, and use at your leisure (up to 5 days). For home freezing, freeze on the day of arrival, and use within 3 months. Yellowfin tuna flesh colour may change colour from a light pink to light brown once frozen (this is normal). -
Eco rating
All our Yellowfin Tuna is caught with a pole and line (one fish at a time) by fishermen in the cold waters off Cape Point. This method of catch is rated green by SASSI with the lowest discard rates and least possible impact on ocean ecology.

Fishwife Recipes
Most great seafood recipes are heroing the flavours and freshness of the catch itself. The Fishwife shows us how to get the most out of Greenfish tuna belly. You will need:
- Greenfish Yellowfin Tuna Belly
- Salt & Pepper
- Japanese 7 spice (or 5 spice)
- 1/3 Cup Teriyaki Sauce
- 3 Tbsp Sesame Oil (can substitute with olive oil)
- 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
Preparation:
- Sprinkle the 7 spice, salt & pepper to both sides of the steaks. (You do not need to use a lot of the 7 spice as it has some heat to it!).
- In a glass dish marinate the Tuna Belly in the Teriyaki Sauce, Sesame Oil and Lemon Juice for at least 45 minutes. (You can leave overnight in the fridge).
- Heat the pan on high heat and quickly pan fry the steaks. Thin steaks will take approximately 1 minute per side and thicker steaks approximately 2 minutes per side.

- Collections are free and take place Monday to Friday.
- Orders placed online before 11am will be ready to collect same-day from 12h00 to 5pm.
- Orders placed online after 11am will be made ready for collection the following working day, from 12h00 to 5pm.
- Should you place your order after 11am and need it that day, or need to collect before 11am (Monday to Friday) please contact our office 063 666 2802 and we will get it ready for you, it normally takes us an hour to cut and prepare.

We are situated in the bend in a complex called Berkley Square. Ask security for Greenfish Collections. Please park outside the home collection door and ring bell. It is well sign posted. Please park right outside the door.

Epic quality!
I've been looking for some tuna belly to make nigiri with and this piece of fish blew me away. Amazing fat content an so tender. Super happy with my purchase!

First timer on Tuna Belly
sAs usual, the ordering and delivery experience was top notch. This was the first time that I cooked (or ate) tuna belly. I love that it was fresh. The portion was great - it served up 4 pieces that were very filling. It also flaked/ separated very well into these long strips. The first evening it was prepared with fresh lemon juice in which it marinated for a while, then brushed with olive oil before being place in a pan with some butter. Salt and pepper were added in the fry up as I wanted to experience the cut as simply as possible. It was tender and tasty. The side dish was slow fired mushrooms in olive oil and a touch of garlic. A wrap was toasted and broken as "chips" just to ad some texture to the dish. Night 2 saw some well seasoned oven roasted vegetables - my co -cook has a way with oven cooking that I am in awe of, be with protein or veggies, her food is exceptionally good. Served with a citrus dressed, fresh green salad - it was very good. Oh, the home made habenero sauce did wonders with the honey ginger basting. I made the tuna belly fried in butter and olive oil and made a basting of finely grated ginger slow roasted in honey and butter on the side, which I coated onto the fish as just before serving it up. The basting served to enhance the natural sweetness of the tuna belly. I am very happy with the purchase and my eyes & taste buds were delighted with the meal.

The freshness of the sea
My first taste of Tuna Belly. Absolutely delicious. Not as rich as I was expecting. (In my search for tuna belly in Johannesburg I managed to source some Salmon belly. Very rich) I must still try The Fish Wife’s recipe, looking forward to it. I must admit that I did try having a small piece as sushi which I did not enjoy, but then I don't know how the Japanese would have prepared it.

Still smelling of the Sea
This was my first order. It was a bigger piece than I expected and I cut it in half. In retrospect I should have used two different recipes for the 2 pieces. The Fishwife recipe was was good, but it does overpower the natural taste of the Toro. Will definitely order again.

Tuna Belly
Had never heard of it before. I used the recipe of the "fishwife lady" and ...hm.. how delicious that was. Even the leftover for the next day cold!!! Please inform us when you get new tunabelly. kind regards U. Ehrhardt

Outstanding quality
I come from Spain and there tuna belly is considered delicacy and is consumed both fresh and canned in olive oil. This was tender, full of healthy, delicious fat, clean and huge. As for The rest of The aspects, as always: timely delivery, impecable packaging,… Superb!

Tuna Belly - Absolutely Beautiful
We had an order of the Tuna Belly delivered and as always Green Fish exceeds expectations. From wonderful customer service, the friendly and polite delivery team and the absolute freshest fish, a big thank you Green Fish. In terms of the Tuna Belly itself, and trying it for the first time, we used the Fish Wife's Teriyaki Tuna Belly Recipe and were absolutely blown-away by how wonderful it was. The belly was so tender and soft once grilled, it pulled apart with gentlest of touches from a fork, and it simply melted in the mouth. The description as the "foie gras of tuna" is no exaggeration. The recipe was delicious and we served it with Sushi rice with toasted black and white sesame seeds and scallions, grilled Pak Choi and a wasabi and Japanese Mayo and it was absolutely beautiful. It was truly a treat and will definitely be ordering again. Thank you again to the Green Fish team and keep up the great work!

Tuna belly
I love tuna but never tried the belly. Now I a hooked. Tender, juicy and tasty. I soaked it in soy sauce and lemon juice and seared it quickly in the pan. Wow. I will recommend it to all my friends.

I wish they would incorporate a “ Packaging and portioning “ choice -box so I can request portion size If they did then everything would be perfect. But I will still use them even if they don’t!
