Catch of the Day #021

Ryan Nienaber

The beginning of October traditionally brings a few weeks of strong south easterly winds, followed by some good catches of tuna. This year was no different and we have already had one good landing of fresh yellowfin tuna from our local fleet. With the sporadic north westerly winds and rain we are still experiencing this late in the year, I hope the tuna stay for the remainder of the tuna season.

We have also seen good catches of cape snoek in false bay. They have been absent for many years inside the bay, and this was a welcome sight to many of the traditional hand line fisherman.

As we move on into summer, we expect to see good catches of yellowtail from Struisbaai and tuna off Cape Point. Both are great for your summer braai time.

We continue to update our store daily with our ever-changing catches. Right now, we have a huge variety available and wanted to share our selection with you. Try out that fish that you've never had or simply order your favourite while it's at its freshest.

Yours truly,
Ryan
